Dear Thespian Sponsor and Theatre Teacher:

I want to let you and your students know about a very exciting project that is open only to students in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties. This is the Gorilla Theatre's

YOUNG DRAMATISTS' PROJECT (YDP) '10

YDP will bring recognition to:

• Your students
• Your school
• Yourself

Enclosed you will find the details of this competition. Already many of your students are submitting plays to the Thespian Individual Events competition. These plays are often ideal for YDP. Check the rules regarding length and cast size and usually you will find you already have material for your students to submit.

The rewards are great:

• A full production of your student's script
• Royalty fees
• Membership to the Dramatists' Guild
• Recognition in local newspapers.

Whether your students are interested in pursuing a career in theatre or not, this recognition will certainly impress college admission offices.

How much does it cost? Just your encouragement. And so often these are students who do not receive the sort of support they need. You can direct them in a very important direction.

Please, look over the enclosed material and begin talking to your students about this project today. Writing a play may take some time so start them early. If you have any questions, please contact me or The Gorilla Theatre. I would be happy to visit your school Thespian Meeting or theatre class and discuss the project in greater detail.
