SHIPWRECKED! AN ENTERTAINMENT THE AMAZING ADVENTURES OF LOUIS DE ROUGEMONT (AS TOLD BY HIMSELF)

CHRISTMAS STOPPING

In a style reminiscent of the best of David Ives or Christopher Durang, James Rayfield's dark Christmas farce casts a humorous light on the commercialization of the Holidays. Served up with a side item of another Rayfield comedy, The Chatterbox Cafι plus musical entertainment, this is a great alternative to more common Christmas fare.
James Rayfield (playwright) is Artistic Director of the Gorilla Theatre's Young Dramatists' Project. He has been a theatre teacher for almost thirty years. He has published several plays including The Five Pound Sack, They Call Me Danny Brillo and Help Wanted. He has an MFA from the University of Texas at Austin and studied acting with Viola Spolin in Los Angeles.
Special talkback sessions with the playwright will be scheduled during the run of the show.

THE LION IN WINTER

A high stakes game of one-upmanship, infighting, and the politics of succession.
For sheer bloody-minded, backstabbing, double-crossing behavior, few families can beat the Plantagenets. King Henry II, having brought together England, Scotland, Wales, and a hefty chunk of France under his rule, has to leave it to someone capable of keeping it all intact. Henry is a master manipulator, powerful and charismatic, who favors his youngest son John for the throne. His sternest opposition comes from his quick-witted wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine, who he keeps imprisoned for, among other things, attempting to lead a rebellion against him. Eleanor favors Richard, and will do whatever it takes to put him on the throne in John's place - or in Henry's, if necessary.

Scott Hudson's delightful Florida love story (which, early in its development, received a staged reading as part of the Gorilla Reading Series in 2008) returns to the Gorilla in a full production following its success in New York and its publication by Dramatists' Play Service.
A special talkback session on the life cycle of new play development will be scheduled during the run of the show.
